General, Building and Residential Contractors
Since few residents of the State choose to live without air conditioning, AC contractors are in high demand. As preparation for the ongoing business of providing the highest quality air conditioning and refrigeration services, an air conditioning contractor must be able to work on heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems. The job may also include designing, fabricating, installing and repairing those systems for both residential and commercial customers.
Plumbing contractors take on all sort of different jobs, and again, many choose to specialize in certain areas. Basically, anything involving piping systems in residential, commercial or industrial structures and projects is a plumbing job. Far more than unclogging the drain, licensed plumbers must be able to read blueprints as well as know how to do basic carpentry, welding and soldering; a competent plumber is many a householder’s and business owner’s best friend.
A licensed glazing contractor must be able to work with all kinds of glass and glass substitutes. Required skills include but are not limited to choosing the correct material for a specific job, cutting and fitting or assembling those materials for everything from picture frames to shower doors to greenhouses. Glazing contractors may specialize in one or several aspects of glass work but most work with both commercial and residential customers.

General Pool (Commercial, Residential Servicing)
The job of a general pool contractor goes far past simply preparing a hole to turn into a pool or repairing a broken filter system. Pool contractors that specialize in either or both commercial and residential pools must also be able to service any equipment associated with the pool, maintain or service any gas or water service lines that extend to the pool equipment, maintain or service pool piping and fittings, install and repair backflow prevention devices, disconnect and repair pool equipment wiring, and properly connect waste lines. In addition, if written into the contract a pool contractor must also install or provide swimming pool accessories, safety devices, protective fencing, and covers.
Roofing contractors specialize in the installation; repair and maintenance of roofs, using materials designed to weather-proof the structure underneath. In Florida the most common materials are composition or tile shingles, but most licensed roofing contractors can provide several options including integrated solar paneling.
